The Vacancy
Job Title:
Process Apprenticeship
About the employer:
When waste cannot be reduced, reused or recycled, energy from waste provides the most sustainable solution.
The UK currently recycles 45% of its waste, with over 40% of the unrecyclable waste still being sent to landfill. The UK Government’s legally binding target is to reach just over 15 million tonnes of unrecyclable waste per year by 2042 – a 50% reduction on today’s volumes.
That’s where energy from waste comes in. Our facilities efficiently convert waste into power for the National Grid, playing a valuable part of the UK’s circular economy and waste management solutions. A better alternative for everyone.
Summary:
Enfinium is one of the largest energy-from-waste businesses in the UK and an industry leader in the conversion of non-recyclable residential and business waste into heat and partially renewable power. Enfinium currently has a platform of six (two in construction) strategically located facilities across the UK.
Today, Enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) - enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes. Enfinium is owned by infrastructure investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners
