The Vacancy
Job Title:
Electrical & Control/Instrumentation – Apprenticeship
Summary:
The apprenticeship would see the candidate working on a multitude of power generation sites, including but not limited to CCGT, EfW, OCGT & Biomass stations. They would be mentored by our highly skilled and experienced engineering team. Our work takes us across the UK, Ireland, Mainland Europe & Malta, so applicants must be comfortable travelling, and staying away from home a large percentage of the year
This role would see the successful applicant working towards carrying out a variety of works, including but not limited to the following:
o Electrical Installations
o Switch Gear & Board maintenance (415v-11kv)
o HV Transformer maintenance (up to and including 132kv)
o Secondary Injection testing
o Cable installations
o Battery maintenance and load testing
o Buildings testing/ portable appliance testing
o Routine Electrical maintenance
o Calibrations of sitewide Instrumentation
o Instrumentation Fault diagnosis/Repair
o Routine Control and Instrumentation maintenance
o Complete Control and Instrumentation Installations
o CMX Database creation / maintenance service

Training to be provided
The apprenticeship follows a 4-year programme, with the first year spent off the job at CATCH in Stallingborough. This would be Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4pm.
The remainder of the apprenticeship is then completed onsite with the employer.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants will need a minimum of 3 GCSEs at A*-C (9-4) Grades including in English and Mathematics based subjects or equivalent.

You will have developed a variety of interchangeable skills and have an in depth understanding of manufacturing and processes.
